Search Y Combinator
SearchYC.com is an independent project to build a search engine for venture firm Y Combinator's Hacker News. The web app and supporting programs are used to find submissions, comments, and users within the community.
The application runs on a combination of Ruby, Python, and MySQL. The front-end is done primarily in Ruby on Rails, while the web crawler is implemented in Python.
